Asia Travel Guide
Asia is the largest continent of the world that extends over nearly one-third of the land surface of the earth. The word Asia is speculated to be from the word Asu, an Akkadian word, which means "to go out" or "to rise". The gesture probably indicates to the direction of the sun at sunrise in the Middle East. Asia continent is thus often called as the land of the rising sun where the west (Europe) is the land of the setting sun.
Asia acquires the area of around 43, 999, 000 sq km. Its population acquires around 60%of the total world population. The climate of Asia is very varied. This continent is extreme in North and monsoon in South and East. Explaining the chief mountain ranges of Asia, we can name the Himalayas, Kunlun, Tien Shah, Altai and Tibetan Plateau. The demography of Asia includes many mighty rivers as, Ganges, Yang-tze, Yamuna, Yenisei, Amur, Hwang-ho and Mekong. There are two Deserts in Asia namely, Thar and Arabia.
Asia is substantially the largest continent in the world, and is rich in natural resources, such as Petroleum and iron. The minerals like Gold, Coal, Oil and Manganese are also found in abundance in Asia. Forest areas are extensive throughout Asia's demography. Fishing is a major source of food in Asia, particularly in Southern India and Japan. There are many modern cities in Asia, traveling where can be a memorable experience. Delhi, Bombay, Kolkata, Dhaka, Beizing, Yangoon, Bangkok, Colombo, Hanoi, Tashkeny are few to name.
Asia continent also has very positive economic indicators. Asia's largest economy is Japan and the smallest is East Timor. Japan is the world's second largest economy. China and India are the rapidly growing economies of the Asia continent.
The history of Asia continent can be seen as the blend of distinct histories of East Asia, South Asia, Middle East and several peripheral coastal regions. A large majority of the people in the world practice different religious faiths in Asia. There is a perfect blend of various religions like Islam, Hinduism, Christianity, Buddhism, etc in Asia.
