Years of hard work put in by the Doha Asian Games Organizing Committee (DAGOC) has not gone unnoticed, and unappreciated. Commendation is flowing in from all quarters and the DAGOC has every reason to be proud. It is gloating with pride after high praise from none other than the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) itself.
The OCA has expressed confidence in the efforts of DAGOC, stating that it is sure all arrangements will be completed on time, and that they'll will be par excellence.
The Asian Games 2006 Village is touted to be the best ever witnessed in the history of Asian Games. Almost all stadiums and venues of the Games have been completed and furnished to the minutest detail; and the leftovers are nearing completion.
In its message to the media, the OCA has clearly mentioned that it was quite satisfied with the arrangements, contrary to what certain sections of the Press claimed. Test events for the Games have been done with, and so far, all doubts have been put to rest.
"Extensive preparations are underway to conduct the biggest sporting spectacle the Middle East has ever seen. The OCA is extremely pleased with the outcome," Raja Randhir Singh, Secretary-General of the OCA said in a statement recently.
