Temporary home to thousands of athletes participating in the Asian Games 2006, Doha, the athletes' village recently welcomed its first guests. On 10th November, the Asian Games 2006 Village became fully operational as its maiden guests poured in to take up their residencies.
The guest list includes the Chef de Mission of the Iranian team, Sayed Nasrollah Sejadi, and his colleagues Mohammed Azizi and Atefeh Eslamian. Heartily received by the Welcome Committee of DAGOC, these guests then proceeded to their allocated accommodation.
These administrators are in Doha to inspect the preparations regarding transportation, health, accommodation, etc, before the arrival of the Iranian contingent for the Games.
Various other countries will also be sending an administrative team, comprising members of their National Olympic Committee (NOC), to make sure that all requisite arrangements are in place for their national teams.
The Asian Games Village consists of 811 apartments for athletes and 45 for their officials. Each apartment has five bedrooms, four bathrooms and living room, and can house 13 people.
