The perfect test of a sportsperson's concentration powers, Archery is one of the highly competitive sports in Asian Games 2006.
Usually associated with mythological characters, Archery has historically been the sport of hunting and combat.
In the 15th Asian Games, archers have to use their bow and arrow to hit a given target. The more accurate your aim, the more points you earn. On the targets, there'll be ten rings numbered with scores of 1 to 10. The closer your arrow reaches to the middle ring, the higher points you can score.
As far as participating countries in Asian Games 2006 are concerned, Korea and India have dominated the proceedings in the Archery competitions at the Games.
According to the history of Asian Games, Archery competition was first held in the Tokyo edition of the quadrennial event in 1958. Jakarta 1962 also followed. But then, due to some reasons, Archery was not a part of Asian Games sports until Bangkok 1978.
