A great source of recreation avaialble in all major amusement centers and sports complexes, Bowling is probably the most 'unserious' sport at the Asian Games platform. Although it is quite simple to play the sport, not many have been able to master the art of Bowling.
Demanding an accurate aim along with perfect hand-eye coordination, Bowling is played as much in the head as on the alley.
Officially known as Tenpin Bowling, this indoor sport is played on a wooden alley wherein the player has to roll the ball and aim to fell the ten pins placed in a triangular shape. Points are awarded according to the number of pins knocked down by the bowler.
At the Doha Asian Games, there are a total of 12 Bowling events to be played. These include singles, doubles, trio, teams of five, masters, etc.
Ever since its introduction at the 1978 Bangkok Asian Games, Bowling has been played in all the Games thereon.
