One of the most enthralling events in the 15th Asian Games schedule, Water Polo is total fun. Easy and undemanding as it may seem, Water Polo requires athleticism and agility on part of the participants.
Water Polo is played between two teams of seven players each. Played in a swimming pool, the game is about throwing the ball into the opponent's goal. It can be conveniently known as 'handball in a swimming pool'.
Water Polo has primarily been a part of the various disciplines of 'Aquatics' at the Games. Both male and female teams can contest in a Water Polo competition at the Doha Asian Games.
It has been a regular feature of the quadrennial event since the maiden edition at New Delhi in 1951.
