Tours to Queensland

New Year in Australia | Sightseeing in Australia | Beaches in Australia | Flights to Australia

Queensland can be aptly called the tourism capital of Australia. Be it Eco tourism or beach side fun, Queensland has a lot to offer. It is the 'sunshine state' of Australia and home to one of the natural wonders of the world, the world's largest coral reef, The Great Barrier Reef. It also boasts of one of the world's best and buzzing beach, The Gold Coast Beach.

Climate

The 2000 km long state is divided by the Tropic of Capricorn, thus the north is tropical warm and South, temperate warm. Though the weather is good all year round, the best time to plan a tour to Queensland is during June-August when the region experiences winter. The summers last from December to February. Rainfall is generally experienced during the hot and humid summers. Monsoon showers also bring along hurricanes to Queensland.

Three regions of Queensland

Queensland is divided into three regions, namely East Coast, South Coast and the Far North Queensland. Each has a distinct climate and geography. Brisbane, the Capital of Queensland, is in the South Coast, neighbouring the most exciting beach of Australia, the Gold Coast. From surfing, diving, sailing, snorkeling, jet boating, whale watching, hot air ballooning, sea kayaking to simply relaxing by the beach and enjoying the golden sun is amazingly soulful. The East Coast is home to The Great Barrier Reef. With its 2, 900 individual reefs, 71 coral islands, 10, 000 species of sponge, 350 different species of coral, 4, 000 species of molluscs, 350 species of echinoderms and over 1, 500 species of fish, it is a scuba diver's paradise. Plus there are Whitsunday Islands where you can enjoy a tranquil outing on a yacht and explore the Magic Islands. The Far North Queensland is abode to The Daintree Forests which house crocodiles, Barramundi fish and the Black Marlin.

Accommodation

The holiday makers on the funfilled tour to Queensland generally opt for self contained holiday apartments as accommodation by the beach. However, for single night stays the traditional boutique hotels or countryside motels and inns are preferred.

Food and Wine

The local food and wine would grow onto your senses and excite your taste buds. The fresh aroma of the seafood and the home grown veggie ingredients are a delight to the palate. You can savour the taste of local liquor churned out of the finest wineries, breweries and distilleries.
