However, it was in 1859 modern Olympic Games were organized. It received sponsorship from Evangelos Zappas. In 1870 and 1875, Olympic Games were scheduled to be played at the Panathinaiko Stadium. Evangelos Zappas took the charge of the refurbishment of the stadium and made considerable monetary contributions. Later, a French nobleman known as Pierre Frédy, Baron de Coubertin took commendable initiatives and introduced the International Olympic Committee in 1894. In 1896, under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee, Summer Olympics were organized. This event was scheduled to be played in 1896 in Athens, Greece.
