Christmas in Cuba is celebrated since past few years. In the year 1962, Cuba was declared as atheist nation, but they keep on celebrating Christmas holidays until 1969. In the year 1969, it was removed from list of holidays of Cuban calendar. In the year 1997, President Castro restored Christmas holiday again. This was done in the honor of Pope John Paul II visit.
Large mass is also held in the Havana's Revolution Square, after the reinstatement of X'mas. At midnight masses, several thousands of Cubans worship after the ringing out of Church bells. This marks the moment of Christmas Eve becoming Christmas Day.
Christmas in Cuba is celebrated with great fun and festivity. It is considered to be one of the most joyous occasions. It signifies spreading love and happiness among fellow human beings. Christmas celebrations are incomplete without beautiful Christmas decorations. Dazzling Christmas lights, beautiful Christmas tree, balloons, gifts, toys, bells, stars are the major components of Christmas celebrations.
