Germany crushes Portugal 3-1
Germany literally crushed Portugal 3-1 in the 3rd place play-off match in Stuttgart on July 08, 2006. The German striker Bastian Schweinsteiger scored the first goal in the 56th minute, followed by a goal from Petit 4 minutes later. Schweinsteiger struck gain in the 78th minute. Nuno Gomes scored the only goal for Italy in the 88th minute. Bastian Schweinsteiger (GER) was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his superb all-round performance.
