    Cote d'Ivoire fought back well and stunned Serbia and Montenegro 3-2 after trailing 2-0 till 37-th minute in an amazing Group C contest in Munich on 21 June 2006. Nikola Zigic scored the first goal for Serbia and Montenegro in 10-th minute, followed by a superb goal from teammate Sasa Ilic in the 20-th minute. Aruna Dinadane scored the first goal for Cote d'Ivoire in 37-th minute and produced an equalizer in 67-th minute. The winning goal for Cote d'Ivoire came in 86-th minute from Bonaventure Kalou, who was also declared the Man-of-the-Match.

    Argentina draws with Netherlands (0-0)
    Argentina drew with the Netherlands (0-0) in an interesting Group C match in Frankfurt on June 21, 2006. With this Argentina moved to first place in Group C. Argentina will meet Mexico in their Round of 16 tie, while the Dutch will play Portugal. Carlos Tevez (ARG) was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his superb all-round performance.

    Argentina crushes Serbia & Montenegro (6-0)
    Argentina literally crushed Serbia and Montenegro (6-0) in a one-sided Group C contest in Gelsenkirchen on 16 June 2006. With this spectacular win, Argentina qualified for the Round of 16, starting from June 24, 2006. Argentinean star striker Maxi Rodriguez struck the first goal for his team in the 6th minute, followed by a goal from Esteban Cambiasso in (31') of the game. Rodriguez struck again in 41st minute, finishing any hope of comeback by Serbia and Montenegro. Argentina scored the last three goals in the final 12 minutes of the match. Juan Riquelme was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his good all-round performance.

    Netherlands overcomes defiant Cote D'Ivoire (2-1)
    The Netherlands overcame a defiant Cote D'Ivoire 2-1 in a highly enthralling Group C contest in Stuttgart on 16 June 2006, and booked their place in the Round of 16 of the World Cup 2006. The Dutch striker Robin van Persie struck the first goal in the 23rd minute, followed by a goal from teammate Ruud van Nistelrooij giving their team 2-0 lead. Cote D'Ivoire fought back well through a spectacular goal from Bakary Kone, and an equalizer was always on the card till the last minute of the game. Robben Arjen was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his good all-round performance.

    Netherlands defeats Serbia & Montenegro (1-0)
    Netherlands overcame indefatigable Serbia & Montenegro (1-0) in its opening Group C encounter in Leipzig on 11 June 2006. Both teams looked solid and well planned in the field, and it was the early goal from Dutch star striker Arjen Robben sealed the fate of the game in Netherlands' favor. Robben struck the decisive goal in (18') of the game, after breaking the Serbia and Montenegro back line. Serbia and Montenegro fought all the way and also had their share of chances and misses. Arjen Robben (NED) was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his goal and good all-round performance.


    Argentina overcomes defiant Côte d'Ivoire (2-1)
    Argentina defeated Côte d'Ivoire 2-1 in a highly enthralling Group C contest in Hamburg on 10 June 2006. Argentina started to dominate the game from the beginning and striker Hernan Crespo scored first goal for his team in (24'). Soon the second goal from teammate Javier Saviola in (38') doubled the advantage for Argentina.

    Côte d'Ivoire played with its full potential in second-half to equalize the score with some success when Didier Drogba striked in (82'). Though Ivorians lost the game but showed their potential to challenge opposition in coming games. Argentina showed its class and superb technique, proving why they're one of the favorites to win the World Cup in Germany. Javier Saviola (ARG) was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his extraordinary all-round performance.
