Iran showed no sign of nervousness against favorite Mexico and looked impressive throughout the game, but their careless attitude towards the close cost them heavily. Mexicans scored twice in the final 20 minutes, producing a dramatic victory for their country. Mexican star striker Omar Bravo scored the first goal in 28' but just 8 minutes later Iran produced an equalizer through Yahya Golmohammadi. When the game was looking a possible draw, a good move from Bravo produced second goal for Mexico in 76-minutes, followed by a goal from teammate ZINHA after 3 minutes. Omar Bravo was declared the Man-of-the-Match for his 2 spectacular goals and all-round performance.
