    Nuremberg Stadium

The football stadium at Nuremberg is among the three stadiums in Germany, which has an athletics track. The other city stadiums that have athletics track are Berlin and Stuttgart. Nonetheless the Nuremberg Frankenstadion provides top rate facilities.

Right from the beginning of reconstruction work, a state-of-the-art eco-friendly provision to store rainwater in a specially built reservoir has been installed which is capable of meeting the stadium's entire watering needs. The stadium's exclusively designed "Eco Management and Audio Scheme", is a highly evolved environmental optimization process which has already won rave reviews from the scientific world.

The surface area has been brought down and extra seats have been fitted to increase the capacity to 45, 500 which is highly laudable.

The ground floor under the main stand has been totally renovated and redesigned into a state-of-the-art Mixed Zone A huge three-storey VIP building especially meant for the media and special invitees have been built. The entire construction work was complete by April 2005.
Already the new stadium has successfully hosted three matches during the 2005 Confederations Cup including a match between Germany and Brazil.

The old Municipal Stadium was built in 1928 in the aftermath of FC Nuremberg's triumph in 1961 Bundesliga. The stadium was renovated twice. The first was in 1987 and the second was in the year 1991.
