Some of the masterpieces like paintings of Canaletto, Memling, Jerg Ratgeb, and Rembrandt are displayed in the Old Gallery. The New State Gallery which was designed by renowned architect James Stirling exclusively showcases the best of 20th centuryart.

    Another notable museum of Stuttgart is the Art Museum. The museum is housed in a stylish cube-shaped building which boasts of 5, 000 square metres of gallery space. The museum concentrates on promoting local art and is best known for the world's largest collection of artwork by Otto Dix, the renowned German painter of yesteryears.

    Shopping can be great fun at Stuttgart and some of Stuttgart's most popular shopping areas are Königstrasse and Schulstrasse, the Calwer Strasse area and of course the Bohnenviertel district.

    Apart from fabulous shops, Schulstrasse area is most famous for its street entertainers while the Calwer Strasse area is famed for its charming timber houses and hundreds of shops selling evrything from gems and jewellery to haute coutre clothings for men and women.
