Founded in 1923 as Czechoslovak State Airlines, Czech Airlines operated its maiden flight to Prague from Kosice. In 1929, it joined the IATA, and started its international operations a year later with a flight from Prague to Zagreb. By the early 1940s, Czech Airlines was operating flights to major European destinations, like Paris, Budapest, Rome and Moscow. In 2005, Czech Airlines was awared the title of "Best Airline in Europe" by the magazine Global Traveler. The Czech Airlines is a member of the Sky Team Alliance. |
