The Bangladesh Cricket Team is one of the best cricket teams
in Asia, along with India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Though
comparatively new entrants in the international cricket, Bangladesh
have recorded many stunning victories against some of the
world's leading cricket teams. They defeated Pakistan in the
1999 Cricket World Cup, and stunned the cricketing world by
defeating the world champions Australia by 5 wickets in the
2005 NatWest Series contest in England. They have also recorded
well-deserved victories against former world champions India,
West Indies and Sri Lanka. Bangladesh Cricket Team has earned
great respect among cricket enthusiasts world over, and the
team holds great promises for future.
Bangladesh is placed in Group B, along with India, Sri Lanka
and Bermuda. Bangladesh will play its first warm-up match
against New Zealand on March 06, and will start its Group
Stage matches against India on March 17 at Brian Lara Stadium
in Trinidad & Tobago. Bangladesh will play a total of
3 matches in Group Stage, and if it qualifies for Second Stage
- Super 8, the team will contest in 6 matches to enter semi
finals and then finals on April 28 at Kensington Oval, Barbados.
