Indian batsmen have ruled the roost, as far as batting records in Cricket World Cup are concerned. Ex-skipper Sachin Tendulkar has clearly been the star performer amongst batsmen. In his four World Cup appearances, he has scored 1796 runs, the maximum in all Cricket World Cups.
He is followed by Australia’s Ricky Ponting with 1537 runs, Pakistan’s Javed Miandad, who has 1083 runs to his credit, New Zealand’s Stephen Fleming with 1075, and South Africa’s Herschelle Gibbs with 1067.
