Glenn McGrath of Australia leads the pack of highest wicket takers in Cricket World Cups. In 39 matches, he grabbed a total of 71 wickets with an average of 18.19 and economy rate of 3.96. McGrath is succeeded in the table by Pakistani strike bowler Wasim Akram. In 38 matches, Akram has claimed 55 wickets at an average of 23.83.
Muttiah Muralitharan (SL) took 53 wickets in 31 matches. Chaminda Vaas (SL) claimed 49 wickets in 31 matches. Javagal Srinath (India) played 34 matches in World Cup and claimed 44 wickets.
