Cricket fans all over the world are eagerly waiting for 13 March
2007, the day when the largest edition of the ICC Cricket
World Cup 2007 will commence at Sabina Park in Jamaica, West
Indies. The opening ceremony of the 9th ICC Cricket World
Cup 2007 will also be held at newly built Trelawny Stadium
in Jamaica on March 11, 2007. There are a total of 16 participating
teams in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007, divided into 4 groups-
Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D - all with 4 teams
each. The Group Stage matches will start on 13 March 2007,
when the host West Indies will take on Pakistan in the opening
match of the tournament at Sabina Park in Jamaica.
Each Group will see a total of 6 matches, and a total of
24 matched would be played in the Group Stage during 13-25
March 2007. In addition, each team in a group will play a
total of 2 group matches, and 2 highest scoring teams from
each group would qualify for the Second Stage - Super Eight
Series matches.
