The 9th ICC Cricket World Cup in West Indies, scheduled during March-April 2007, is expected to be the largest cricketing extravaganza, the world has ever seen. The tournament will see the participation of 16 national cricket teams from five continents, which are divided into four groups- Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D. Every group has 4 teams each, including at least two high-ranking teams. Group D of the ICC CWC 2007 comprises of Pakistan, West Indies, Ireland and Zimbabwe. All Group D matches of ICC CWC will be played at the world-famous Sabina Park in Jamaica. Jamaica will also host the first semi-final match on April 24, 2007.
The ICC CWC Group D matches will be held during 13-23 March 2007. The inaugural match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 is the first match of Group D, scheduled on March 13, 2007 between the host West Indies and Pakistan. This match would also be the most important and interesting match in Group D.
