The Chinese all over the world celebrate Chinese New Year Celebrations, a 15-day extravaganza with full enthusiasm and jest. Beginning on February 18th 2008, the Chinese New Year will be welcomed as usual with pomp and show. Observed as a holiday in China, Chinese New Year is an occasion to cast away the old and bring in the new while chasing away the evil. Staring with the New Moon on the first day of the New Year and ending on the full moon 15days later, Chinese New Year Celebrations are worth watching in case you are on Tours to China during that time of the year. Burning fireworks, cooking and eating mouthwatering delicacies, holding family reunion dinners and what not, come enjoy all in the Chinese New Year Celebrations this year.

Day 1: Day 1 of the Chinese New Year Celebrations starts by welcoming the Gods of earth and heavens. People resist themselves from eating meat on this day to ensure long and happy lives for themselves.

Day 2: On the second day the Chinese are seen offering prayers to their ancestors and Gods. Dogs are fed with extra care, as it is believed that the second day is the birthday of all dogs.

Considered as the birthday of human beings, the seventh day has the noodles and raw fish as the specialties to ensure longevity and success ahead.
