As you plan your trip to Kenya, make sure that you know about the visa regulations in advance. We have listed some of the essential points to be considered. Citizens of the Republic of Ireland and Commonwealth countries do not require a visa while traveling to Kenya. However, there are a number of exceptions to the rule. Citizens belonging to some of the Commonwealth countries need a visa to visit Kenya. They can either obtain a visa on arrival at the airport or from any Kenya Embassy or High Commission before departure. Those countries are:

4. India
5. South Africa (for visitors staying more than 30 days)

10. Turkey

However, there is a different set of rules for some other Commonwealth countries. Their citizens need to apply for a visa prior to arriving in Kenya. Those countries are:

9. Sudan
10. Nigeria
11. Yemen
12. Cameroon
13. Pakistan

Meanwhile, citizens of all other countries will need visas to visit Kenya. Visas are valid for three months and as long as they are valid, they can visit Uganda and Tanzania without applying for a new visa on return to Kenya. However, they will require a new visa on returning from any other country.
Those who do not require visas to visit Kenya are issued a visitor's pass on arrival. This pass is valid for a period of 6 months.
