    How To Reach Grenoble

Grenoble is a famous university town in south-eastern France, and so getting to Grenoble is not that difficult. While Grenoble has its own airport, the easiest way to reach Grenoble is to fly to Lyon-Saint Exupery airport in Lyon, located about 100 km southwest of the city. Grenoble has excellent rail and road networks, connecting it to major destinations across France and Europe.

    Getting to Grenoble

By Air: Grenoble Airport is located about 50 km from the city, with several low cost airlines, including EasyJet and Ryanair operating regular flights to and from it. As it's a very small airport, it opens only in mornings and afternoons. The most convenient way to reach Grenoble is to fly to Lyon-Saint Exupery airport in Lyon (95 km), and then take a high-speed train or coach to the city.

By Rail: Grenoble is well connected by high-speed trains (TGV) with major cities of France, including Paris and Lyon. It takes just 3 hours to reach Grenoble from Paris by a TGV, while 1 1/2 hour from Lyon. You can board a TGV from the air terminal Paris to reach Grenoble, either directly, or via the Lyon Part Dieu railway station.

By Road: Grenoble has excellent road networks that connect it to some of major cities of France and Europe, including Paris (570 km), Milan (376 km), Barcelona (625 km), Geneva (151 km), Nice (318 km), Marseille (256 km) and Lyon (100 km).
