Getting to Florence


Florence is one of the premier business and tourist destinations of Italy, and so getting to Florence is certainly not a problem. Most convenient way to reach Florence is by air, as several international airlines operate direct or connecting flights to the Galileo Galilei Airport in Pisa, which is the international gateway to Florence, located just 80 km from Florence. Florence also has superb rail and road networks, connecting it to all major cities across Italy and Europe. There are excellent coach and train services to Florence from cities across Italy such as Milan, Bologna, Rome and Naples. The EuroCity train services connect Florence to all major destinations in Europe, including Paris, Basel, Munich and Brussels.

 

Getting to Florence by Air: Located 80 km from Florence, the Galileo Galilei Airport in Pisa is the international gateway to the city. Almost all major international airlines, including Alitalia, Air France, British Airways, Meridiana and Lufthansa operate direct or connecting flights to Pisa from cities across the Europe. Alitalia, the national airlines of Italy, connects Pisa to all the major Italian cities including Milan and Rome. British Airways and Ryanair operate daily flights to London, while Lufthansa, Air France and Meridiana provide regular services to major European cities including Paris, Monaco and Oslo.

Getting to Florence by Rail: Florence is located on the main Rome-Milan railway line, connecting it to all major cities in Italy and Europe. Train services link Florence to almost all major cities and business centers of Italy, including Milan, Rome, Naples, Venice, Pisa, and several other destinations. The EuroCity train service links Florence to several European destinations, including Paris, Basel, Munich and Brussels.

Getting to Florence by Road: Florence is well connected by road to all major cities of Italy and Europe. The A1 motorway connects Florence to Rome, Milan, Bologna and Naples, while A11 motorway connects it to Pisa and Tuscan towns of Lucca, Prato and Siena. Eurolines coach services operate regular international services to all major destinations across Europe, including Paris, London, Barcelona, Budapest, Vienna, Brussels, and Prague.
