Getting to Venice

Venice, the city of canals in Italy, is one of the most romantic tourist destinations in the world, and so getting to Venice is certainly not a problem. Most convenient way to reach Venice is by air, as several international airlines operate direct or connecting flights to the city's Marco Polo International Airport from cities across the world. Venice also has good rail and road networks, connecting it to all major cities across Italy and Europe. Venice is well connected by international trains to all major cities of Europe, including Paris, London, Zagreb, Ljubljana, and several cities in Germany and Austria. Eurolines operates international coaches between Venice and destinations across Europe, including London, Amsterdam and Paris.

 
Getting to Venice by Air: Marco Polo Airport is located just 12 km from Venice. It's the major hub of international and domestic flights to the spectacular Veneto region. One of the busiest airports in Italy, Marco Polo is easily accessible by land or water. Almost all major international airlines, such as Alitalia, Air France, British Airways, Easyjet, Delta Airlines and Lufthansa operate direct or connecting flights to Venice. Alitalia, the national airlines of Italy, connects Venice to Rome, Naples and Catania in Sicily. Lufthansa and Air France connect Venice to all major capital cities in Europe, while Alitalia/Delta run a regular flight service to New York.

Getting to Venice by Rail: Venice has good rail networks, connecting it to all major cities in Italy and Europe. Santa Lucia Station is located at the west end of the world-famous Grand Canal. Trenitalia - Italian state railway operate between Venice and Bologna, Florence, Milan and Verona. There are international departures from Venice to Paris, London, Zagreb, and several cities in Germany and Austria. The legendary Orient Express connects Venice to Paris and London (via Paris).

Getting to Venice by Road: Venice has a superb road network, connecting it to all major cities across Italy and Europe. One can find bus services to Venice from Rome, Florence, Naples, Turin, Milan Bologna and Padua. Eurolines coaches operate between Venice and cities across Europe, including London, Amsterdam and Paris. All coaches depart from the world-famous Piazzale Roma.

Getting to Venice by Water: You can easily reach Venice by ferries via Port of Venice, located to the west of the city center. Passenger ferries operate regular services from Patras in Greece and Italian port of Ancona. The port is at a walking distance of Piazzale Roma.
