The Independence Day of Malaysia is falls on 31st August and the day is commemorated as the National Day. Malaysia became independent on 31st August 1957. The Independence Day is celebrated as the Merdeka Celebration.
On the eve of the Merdeka Celebration, the country adorns the mood of a carnival with gorgeous dances, fireworks full of color and light and performances by local artists.The Jalur Gemilang is raised at the midnight amid patriotic citizens of Malaysia cheering 'Merdeka'. On the day of Merdeka Celebration, exhibition depicting Malaysia's glorious history is set up and fireworks are lighted.
