He was an architectural assistant in the Public works and Survey Department whose love for Mughal architecture of India is ref;lected in the design of the Masjid Jame.

National Mosque

Completed in 1965, the National Mosque is very near the railway station next to Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin. Surrounded by 5 acres of landscaped gardens, the roof of the mosque is built like an eighteen-pointed star and resembles an open umbrella.

Sri Mahamariaman Temple

Sri Mahamariaaman Temple is one of the most profusely decorated Hindu temples in Malaysia located near Jalan Bandar. Built in the late 19th century, the temple is adorned with elaborate carvings, gold trimmings, hand-painted designs and lovely tiles brought from Italy and Spain. The temple has a huge chariot used to carry the deity every year during the annual Thaipusam Festival from the temple to the Batu Caves.

National Museum

Visit the National Museum on Tours to Kuala Lumpur. National Library

National Library, located at Jalan Tun Razak. Is a blue-roofed building built like a tengkolok; traditional Malay headgear and songtet; opulently designed brocade fabric. Opened only in 1992, the library has a collection of Malay manuscripts and sescription about Malaysia by Malaysian authors.

Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens
