As Granada does not have its international airport, one has to fly to Madrid (45 minutes) or Barcelona (1 hour) to fly to Granada. As Granada is well connected by other cities of Europe by a network of roads, it is advisable to get a bus or train to Granada. Another traveling option is that you can travel to Malaga and then from Malaga reach Granada.
Getting to Granada
By Air: Granada airport is located at 12 kilometers from the city center. On reaching the airport if you miss the bus, do not worry as taxis wait outside the airport. The nearest international airport to Granada is Malaga. Many flights operate from various cities of Europe to Malaga. You can also book for charter flights to Malaga.
By Rail: Railway Station is centrally located in Avenida de Andaluces. Low speed trains connect to Granada. From Madrid the talgo takes about five and a half hours to reach Granada. From Seville you can reach Granada in four hours.
By Road:Granada bus station is just outside the town at Carretera de Jaen, so you will have to get a taxi or a bus into the centre. Many buses operate every day to and from other Spanish cities. Alsina Graells in Andalucia is the company that is renowned for providing excellent bus service.
