The quickest way to reach Salamanca is by air. The city is located in western Spain in the southwest corner of Castile and Leon on the borders with Portugal. Interesting monuments located in this city makes Salamanca frequented by the tourists round the year.
Getting to Salamanca
By Air: Take a plane to Barajas Madrid Airport and take either a train or a bus to reach Salamanca. It would take around two hours and a half to reach Salamanca. A bus is recommended as bus runs every hour. Another airport, Valladolid Airport, offers direct flights from a few European cities.

By Rail: Trains run from Madrid to Salamanca. Take a taxi from Barajas airport to Estacion de Chamartín (Chamartin Railway Station). Daily the trains leave for Salamanca at 08:45, 11:00, 13:45, 15:45 and 19:45. The timings of the trains for getting back to Madrid are 07:45, 12:45, 15:50, 17:50 and 19:45. Advance reservation is recommended. Railway tickets are also available at Barajas Airport.
By Road: Take a taxi from Barajas airport to Estacion de AutoRes (AutoRes Bus Station). Every day buses operate at specific timings at each round hour.
