By Air: Located at a distance of 17 km from San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica is the Juan Santamaria International Airport. By Rail: Initially there were two main railways in Costa Rica, namely, the Caribbean and the Pacific. Later in 1991, a strong earthquake destroyed majority of the railway tracks. Now the railways in Costa Rica are slowly coming back in to action with the Pacific Railway Station being the main railway station of Costa Rica connecting it with all the major cities of the world.
By Road: Boarding a bus is the cheapest way to get around Costa Rica. The main bus terminal of Costa Rica is located at San Jose. Depending on the budget, tourists going on Costa Rica Tours can choose either direct or normal buses to travel around Costa Rica. Direct Buses are bit faster and therefore more expensive than the normal buses. Feel free to board a tourist bus operated by various bus operators. Taxis can be easily hired for getting to Costa Rica.
