Bukit Hijau or rather Lata Bukit Hijau Recreational Forest is located 112km southeast of Alor Setar, inside the Gunung Inas Virgin Forest Reserve in the district of baling in Kedah. This nature park with its lush green vegetation and beautiful landscapes is a major tourist attraction of the state.
Bukit Hijau, Kedah is primarily a rainforest reserve, filled with different varieties of flora and fauna. One can find numerous types of tropical trees, birds, animals, insects and other creatures in this truly forest reserve. The biggest attraction of this park is Mount Inas or Gunung Inas. This mountain, which is 1,454 meters high, is known for its huge rocks and boulders and is the perfect place to go for rock climbing. A major attraction of Bukit Hijau, Kedah is the seven level waterfalls, which forms seven beautiful pools of crystal clear and cool water.
