The Crocker Range Park, Sabah is one of the best wildlife tour destinations of Malaysia. This national park is located in the state of Sabah on the rough and rugged Crocker Range, which is situated on the eastern side of the country.


The Crocker Range Park, which is situated 300 meters above the sea level, is filled with numerous rivers and steams that pass through its rugged terrain. The park was built in the year 1984 and is the largest park found in Sabah.


This wildlife park is a natural wonder. It is has both mountainous forests and hills. One can find different types of plants and animals in this truly amazing wildlife park. Different varieties of flora and fauna are found inside the Crocker Range Park in Sabah. The vegetation in this park however varies with respect to altitude. The most common varieties of plants that one can find over here are the Rafflesias.


The park is abundant with wildlife. Take a walk across the park and you might just catch a glimpse of the primates like the orangutans, gibbons or the furry tarsiers. Other wildlife creatures that one can find over here include wild cats, civets and wild pigs. The park is also home to different species of birds like pheasants, hornbills and partridges. All this and more makes this park the perfect place to go for bird watching.


The biggest attraction of the park is the majestic Crocker Ranges and the Mount Kinabalu, located just a few meters away. The mountain is bifurcated by the beautiful Padas River. The mountain ranges offer a picturesque view of the setting sun.


Initially the park did not have any facilities for public viewing. However the park has been newly developed in February, 2004. The park today has become a popular place for camping, outdoor educational trips and jungle trekking. There are a large number of camping grounds in the park that allows one to set up tents and enjoy an adventure outing. A large number of jungle treks are also organized for the tourist. However, the park does not have any lodges as of now where the tourists can stay for the night.


The Crocker Range Park, Sabah is a fantastic place to go for wildlife tours while in Malaysia. The beautiful view of the setting sun and the exotic flora and fauna are simply a teat for the visitors.
