Male'
Male' is the capital city of Maldives. It is also the biggest commercial centre, and the place from where the government of Maldives operates. Many important landmarks important from the view of history and religion are located here. Known in ancient times as the Sultan's Island, Male' is a clean and tidy city with markets, mosques and small streets. The city has a certain charm of its own; it is the busiest and the most populous island in Maldives.

Among the famous tourist attractions of the city, the main attraction is the National Museum. It houses ancient exhibits of the sultans' belongings, Thor Heyerdahl's archaeological discoveries and stone carvings. Near the museum is the lovely Sultan Park. Also lie nearby the magnificent white Islamic Center and Grand Friday Mosque whose decorative golden dome dominates the city's skyline. The Grand Friday Mosque is the biggest mosque in the Maldives. It has unique minaret and tombs of national heroes and it also houses the Islamic Center. The other important sites in Male' include the tombs of legendary saints, 'Muleeaage', the Presidential Palace and the National Museum in the Sultan Park, which shows the glories of the ancient era. Atoll Resorts
Most of the resorts in Maldives are located in the three atolls that are closest to the capital. They are North Malé Atoll, South Malé Atoll and Ari Atoll. All the resorts here are gorgeous and offer a discreet array of the white sand, blue sea and swaying palm trees. There are great diving possibilities in all the three atolls. Though the three atolls are apparently similar, they differ considerably in their services of comfort, cuisine, clientele, character and their aptness for diverse excursions and activities.
