But while you are away from your home and want religious shelter then Singapore is the right place. Here you have church, temples, synagogue, and mosque - everything indeed. Central Sikh Temple is a Sikh Gurdwara. It is the first Sikh Gurdwara in Singapore. This holy temple was established in 1912. It was after several relocations that in 1986 this Sikh temple was finally located at Serangoon Road at the junction of Towner Road and Boon Keng Road in the Kallang Planning Area of Singapore.

This Sikh temple is considered as the main place of worship (link this page to Singapore Places of Worship) for Singapore's Sikh population. This temple offers immense facilities to the worshippers of which prayer hall, dining hall and a kitchen are few to name. Its architectural brilliance, which is the fusion of modern and traditional elements, is transpired in the wondrous setting of Prayer Hall. The prayer hall is capped by 13-metre wide dome with white, grey and gold mosaic tiles. There are no columns in the hall. Devotees pray in a fully carpeted, air-conditioned environment. And the holy book of Sikhs "The Granth Sahib" is enshrined within the prayer hall.

Besides, Central Sikh Temple features small dormitory, rooms for tourists, residences for priests, a classroom for religious studies, a library and museum containing articles and books related to Sikhism, as well as administrative offices.
