Ko Panyi, Phang Nga

You shouldn't and possibly can't leave Phang Nga without visiting Ko Panyi, Phang Nga. Nestled among a series of limestone islands that have been eroded over time, Ko Panyi is a wonder in itself. It is a small, curious, floating, Muslim Village.

Ko Panyi, Phang Nga, is a village virtually built on water. It is a complete village in the sense that it has houses, shops, schools, eat-outs, and a mosque. Ko Panyi is inhabited by 120 fishing families. But during the afternoons the village sees an influx of tourists from Phuket who consider Ko Panyi, Phang Nga as a good pit stop option. The usually tranquil place then assumes a fussy and hectic appearance. Though fishing is the primary occupation of the village people, yet they sell fish sauce, dried prawns and shrimp paste that help them to earn some extra bucks. You can sample some food items in the fist restaurant of Ko Panyi, Phang Nga. Tourism earns a major part of revenue for them. You can access Ko Panyi, Phang Nga on a boat that plies from the coast or hire a boat for yourself.
