Wedding bands are the testimony of love that shows your love for your loved one. Wedding bands are an integral part of wedding, irrespective of any culture or society. In many countries like UK, USA, Brazil, a wedding band or a wedding ring is worn on the base of the left ring finger - the fourth finger (counting from the thumb) of the left hand. In other parts of the world, a wedding band is worn on the right ring finger e.g. Norway, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Germany, Poland or Russia.

Gold is the most preferred choice, as far as wedding bands are concerned. To give a superb shine and finish, jewelers most commonly use a precious yellow alloy of gold, hardened with copper, tin and bismuth, while making a wedding band. Platinum and white alloys of gold are also used widely. Recently a cheaper nickel-gold alloy is in use, which has replaced the slightly yellow "white" gold alloys of the past. Nickel silver, which is the least expensive material, is also in use as wedding bands nowadays in some parts of the world.
