There are fantastic wedding traditions in Wales. There is a courting tradition in Wales that has been in practice for years. It is actually the carving of a wooden love spoon. A man who wishes to marry a particular girl carves out various symbols such as hearts, keys and bells in a wooden spoon, showing his intentions for engagement and marriage.

There is another traditional custom of kidnapping the bride by the bride's family just before the wedding ceremony. And from the groom's family whoever rescues the bride is said to get married within a year.

The Welsh bridal bouquet is of a very different kind. A welsh bridal bouquet usually contains myrtle and the bride gives her bridesmaids a cutting of myrtle which is a symbol of love to carry in their bouquets. The Welsh tradition holds that if the bridesmaid plants her myrtle and if it blooms, she will soon get married.
