Celebrations and Ceremonies at the 2010 Winter Games

Celebrations and Ceremonies at the 2010 Winter Games will capture the soul and unique characteristics of the host city, province and country. The XXI Olympic Winter Games will be held in city of Vancouver in Canada.

The Celebrations and Ceremonies at the 2010 Winter Games will celebrate the Olympic Movement and the world’s greatest athletes. The Opening Ceremony of 2010 Winter Games Vancouver will be held at BC Place, Vancouver on February 12, 2010. The Closing Ceremony of 2010 Winter Games Vancouver will also be held at the same venue on 28 February, 2010.

The Celebrations and Ceremonies at the 2010 Winter Games also include the Cultural Olympiad, Olympic Victory Ceremonies and Paralympic Victory Ceremonies. The Cultural Olympiad features theatre, music, digital and new media arts, literature, visual arts and outdoor events. The festivals will feature local, national and international artists. They will showcase Canada’s vitality and rich diversity.

The celebration sites are hosted by City of Vancouver, Resort Municipality of Whistler and the City of Richmond. Live City Vancouver will be an interesting event during the Olympic Winter Games. It will be held at David Lam Park and at Georgia and Beatty Streets.



The official Vancouver 2010 celebration site at Richmond will be the ‘O-Zone’. It will host 17 nights of festivities on the riverfront. The Whistler Olympic Celebration Plaza/Whistler Paralympic Celebration Plaza will be hosting exhibitions and interactive celebrations, dance, music and artistic performances everyday.
