Opening Ceremony of 2010 Winter Games Vancouver

The Opening Ceremony of 2010 Winter Games Vancouver will be held at BC Place, Vancouver. The city of Vancouver is the capital of the Canadian province of British Columbia. The Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony will also be held at the same venue.

The Opening Ceremony of 2010 Winter Games Vancouver will be held on February 12, 2010. This will be for the first time that the Olympic Games Opening ceremony is going to be held in an indoor venue.

The BC Place, Vancouver is one of the Non-Competition Venues of Winter Olympics 2010. The venue will also host the nightly Victory Ceremonies presentations of the XXI Olympic Winter Games.

Vancouver’s BC Place is situated on the north side of False Creek. It is owned and operated by PavCo (BC Pavilion Corporation). The site is also the home to the Canadian Football League's B.C. Lions since 1983. The venue was constructed for the 1986 World's Fair, Expo 86.

The venue can seat 55,000 spectators for the Opening Ceremony of 2010 Winter Games Vancouver. The site also features North America’s largest air-supported stadium roof. With its winter weather protection, sound, state-of-the-art lighting, projection and special effects technology facilities, the opening ceremony is going to be a memorable one.
