Facilities and Services at 2010 Winter Games – an Overview
Vancouver is getting ready to welcome visitors to the 2010 Winter Olympics in grand style. There are a number of hotels in Vancouver and these hotels will cater to the needs of accommodation for the huge number of spectators during the games. The booking of hotels for 2010 Winter Games has started already, many of which are full by now. The hotels in Vancouver follow the standards set by the Hotel and Travel Index and by the Canadian National Tourist Board.
Transportation
During the 2010 Winter Games, additional ground transportation services will be provided for Vancouver and Whistler. The ground transportation in Vancouver during the games would be dominated by Vancouver Transit System, TransLink, covering 1800 sq km of the greater mainland of Vancouver. Besides Translink, the other popular city buses are SeaBus and SkyTrain, which are also expected to draw a good number of visitors to the 2010 Winter Games spectators.
Merchandise
Spectators can buy a range of sport-specific items from the merchandise kiosks that will be located in different places of the games venues. Venue maps will mark the position of the merchandise kiosks.
